| It is not possible to specify exactly how many panels
will be required to effectively heat a given area because
of the many variable factors involved, for example wall
thickness and density, roof insulation, house design,
window area and floor covering (e.g. tiles or carpets).
Even personal heating requirements and specific applications
can vary. For these reasons, only the following general
guide can be given. |
| |
| |
- Long cold winters
- Homes or buildings with less than R12 insulation
- Garages, unfinished basements
- Areas with high ceilings
1 x 400 Watt heater per 75-100 sq.ft
floor area
- Sunrooms
1 x 400 Watt per 50 sq.ft floor area
| |
- Shorter, less severe
winters
- Homes or buildings with R12 or greater insulation (includes most Canadian homes)
- Enclosed rooms with standard 8ft ceilings
1 x 425 Watt heater per 100-150 sq.ft floor area
1 x 260 Watt heater per 65-90 sq.ft floor area
